We will be holding a volunteer day Sunday, February 22 to attend to a few needs across our parks. We welcome anyone who is interested in lending their time to assist with the following:
-crape myrtle pruning - we have approximately a dozen of these trees in our public spaces, and February is the ideal time of year to remove crossing, spindly, and dead branches
-trash pickup - the Loring / Deering intersection is flush with discarded refuse again and in need of a thorough sweep
-pebble raking - some of the pea gravel from the pathway along the creek bed (to the west of the playground) has washed up to the adjacent fieldstone retaining wall due to heavy rains
